Tate has been holding this song back for quite some time now. She debuted this song on September 17, 2020, on her YouTube Live titled,
singing some unreleased songs for u guys
. Around ten minutes into the stream, she began to talk about a song called
Falling Backwards
, which, at the time, she didn’t know the song would become a fan favorite. On the live, she said:
