Joan of Arc Lyrics » Little Mix
[Intro: Leigh-Anne]
Hey, hey
Damn
[Verse 1: Leigh-Anne]
One foot in the club, everybody watch me
One pop of the booty, everybody love me
Ain’t the reason I’m cocky
I make myself feel sexy
Fan of myself, I’m stannin’ myself
I love me so much I put my hands on myself
Fan of myself, I’m stannin’ myself
I love me so much I put my hands on myself
[Pre-Chorus: Perrie & Jade,
Perrie
,
All
]
Man, I feel like Cleopatra
Joan of Arc, Queen of Hearts,
yeah
Tonight, it’s only me that matters
Oh, you on that feminist tip?
Hell yeah, I am
[Chorus: Jesy,
Leigh-Anne
]
I don’t need a man
If I’m lovin’ you, it’s ’cause I can (
‘Cause I can
)
I don’t want your cash
I put my own rock on my hand
I put my own rock on my hand
I put my own rock on my hand (
What?
)
I don’t need a man (
Uh, uh
)
If I’m lovin’ you, it’s ’cause I can

Little Mix
releases on November 2, 2018 the first promotional single from their first project in two years,
LM5
, “Joan of Arc”.
The song was teased on group’s official Instagram account on August 15, 2018 by playing a snippet of the song, where the chorus, rapped/sung by Jesy Nelson can be heard. Fans were making theories about that it can be the first single from upcoming album, as Jade Thirlwall shut down rumours on Twitter.
One day before song’s release, members of the group posted a accompanying visuals for “Joan of Arc” on their social medias, which makes hint about a music video that was never released.
The title of the song is a reference to one of the biggest female figure in history, “Joan of Arc”, nicknamed “The Maid of Orléans,” born in 1412 in Domrémy, Bar, France. A national heroine of France, at age 18 she led the French army to victory over the English at Orléans. Captured a year later, Joan was burned at the stake as a heretic by the English and their French collaborators.

We wanted to write in a style we hadn’t really done before as a group. We wanted to write a song about loving yourself without sounding preachy or cheesy. A kind of tongue and cheek feminist bop about not needing a man and providing for yourself because it’s 2019 bitches and we’re indepentend women AF.
