Nobody’s Listening Lyrics » Linkin Park

[Intro: Mike Shinoda]
Com-com-com-com-comin’ at you
Com—, at you, com-comin’ at you
[Verse 1: Mike Shinoda]
Yo, peep the style and the kids checkin’ for it
The number one question is “How could you ignore it?”
We drop right back in the cut over basement tracks
With raps that got you backin’ this up like “Rewind that”
We’re just rollin’ with the rhythm
Rise from the ashes of stylistic division
With these non-stop lyrics of life livin’
Not to be forgotten but still unforgiven
But in the meantime, there are those
Who wanna talk this and that, so I suppose
That it gets to a point where feelings gotta get hurt
And get dirty with the people spreadin’ the dirt, it goes
[Chorus: Chester Bennington,
Mike Shinoda
]
Try to give you warning
But everyone ignores me
Told you everything loud and clear
But nobody’s listening
Call to you so clearly
But you don’t want to hear me
Told you everything loud and clear
But nobody’s listening

About Linkin Park’s Nobody’s Listening from Meteora (2003)

With the main sample being a Japanese bamboo flute, Nobody’s Listening has a very different atmosphere from the rest of the songs on Meteora.
It also samples
High Voltage
, a song from the original Hybrid Theory EP released in 1999 when the band was still called “Hybrid Theory”.

FAQs About Nobody’s Listening

What did Linkin Park say about “Nobody’s Listening”?

One of the band’s many goals in writing
Meteora
was to take their sample sounds to the next level. However, in creating more interesting samples, a new challenge arose: to make the wide variety of sample-based elements feel like they belonged together. At first, this song’s in Japanese flute Luke created a mood that was far different from any other song in which the band was working, and made the track field to distant from the rest of the album. Mike and Chester decided that the singing vocals would have to somehow connect the song to the rest of the recordings. The following day, Chester’s performance gave this seemingly incongruent song balance, transforming it into an essential track on the album.“
