“Nightrain” is one of the ‘feel good songs’ by Guns N’ Roses, an ode to getting wasted with
Night Train wine
. As described by Slash at their infamous show at the Ritz in 1988, the song is about “a walk in the park.” In reality (and as revealed in said guitarist’s autobiography), the idea for “Nightrain” came during a walk down an avenue after getting drunk, singing the future chorus, “I’m on the night train!”.
